[gently guiding back to topic ;) ]

So I checked the smoker the other night, as I need to clean up the drips on the inside, and I noticed that in one or two places on the firebox [on the side of the box that connects to the cooking chamber] the HT30 heat resistant sealant has in fact deteriorated after one session. I suspect this is because it went on very thinly there, but also possibly because it may be one of the hotter spots due to the flames/air being drawn through in that direction.

Not sure what i'm going to do about this for now, will probably leave it, have another go, and see if it gets any worse.

Also, I found that I had some "pyromesh" cages left over from some almighty rockets I fired on NYE, and I am going to make a coal basket out of it I think. (as well as proving to the little lady that it IS worth keeping this "junk" she speaks of!)

It's quite thin gauge steel I think, bit like this stuff here:
