Cheers guys, I've got no probs with the other half, I'm really quite lucky, she is a big part of the reason I built a smoker last year.
She's encouraging me to build a much bigger smoker, problem is what do I make, I big rectangular upright smoker or a trailer smoker, both got merits, the upright would make it easier to cook stuff but we are renting and it'd be a pig to move, and the trailer smoker means we can take it to food festivals and do shows but we both have restricted entitlements to towing as we passed after 01/01/97, then there is the what size axles do I build it on as I have NO idea what it's weight at the end or where to get a decent sized LPG tank from to cut up for it.
Decisions decisions

Hi Stretchie
Might be able to help you out soon as I am having some smokers fabricated along the lines of the Backwoods Professional, a insulated cabinet build.
Just awaiting prices.
I need something this big to keep up with my catering enterprise.

Hi Stretchie, well done, l get nervous when l do weddings, why dont you convert a bowser like me, it gives me a cooking area of 1.5 × 1m. So youve calculated that a 5.5k shoulder will fill 20 rolls, thats great to know

Been thinking about it for a while, I did see one but I thought the bottom the bowser was too low to accommodate a smoke box, unless I cut the mountings and raise it up a little. You taken any more pics of your yet?

Been thinking about it for a while, been watching ebay forever too, I saw one with original trailer but I thought the bottom the bowser was too low to accommodate a smoke box, unless I cut the mountings and raise it up a little.
I like yours but I want to place the smoke box lower in relation to the actual smoker part of it

Awesome, was that a torch / plasma / Grinder job ?
I'd have to use a grinder or pay someone to do it, unless I can borrow a plasma cutter from somewhere (goes off to check HSS website), I've got a compressor for it.
I NEED to do this, one might fit in the garage next to the bikes if I ever get around to tidying it.
I'm still watching them on ebay but it's just the getting them back home bit. They are either to big for me to tow or they are listed as 'Site only' and probably not safe for a big journey at speed behind the Land Rover

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WATER-BOWSER- ... 1323933391This looks tidy and trailer seems solid.
Could be a real bargain as the seller hasn't set a reserve.

They are looking for around £350 + VAT if I read it right
