To be fair Ben's (and most likely Adie's) calibration issues may have to do with the fact that these suckers were posted from California to Philadelphia, traveled to Toronot, Frankfurt and then London in my bag. Suprised they made it at all. Ben - really good install chum. Slightly miffed I didnt get any for myself.

I have no problems with mine Q, in fact those and the thermapen and Mavericks are fine. If they are not I'm not sure what I would use at home to calibrate them, but they are all within a tolerance of each other I can live with.

my 'Bi-metal thermometer' is black with smoke, if I remove the smoke residue would it read more accurately? Although its fully stainless steel I don't really want to take wire-wool to it without advice from you lot.
