There's a fantastic smoked lamb shoulder recipe here:

Some of you guys might see it as cheating as after the initial smoke it's braised and foiled for 4 hours or so.
Tell you what though, it's bloody delicious. The red wine, tomato paste and all the veg slowly break down into the most delicious sauce. It's not BBQ sauce by any stretch of the imagination, but by god it's good.
