Struggling to place an order for a Maverick ET 732

Can anyone help with a link to someone who will sell me a new Maverick ET 732.
Some sites don't ship to UK and another needs to know my "state" (a bit frustrated, at the moment,to be honest but that isn't on the drop down) to allow me to place an order.
Cheers,
Curlie

Found one on eBay and have just ordered it.
Not done the eBay thing before, so fingers crossed.

Thanks Adie,
Tried them with no joy.
Website either said they couldn't ship to UK or the website needed to know what mood I was in ...... sorry, what state I was in.
Anyway, ordered one from eBay and have my fingers crossed.
Thanks again,
Curlie

I thought Mac's BBQ -
http://www.smokingbbq.co.uk - stocked them. The price may be a little higher, but for that you are dealing with a UK seller.

Just a note to say that Steve from 5-0 BBQ has not got the ET 732's online for intl buyers. As Adie points out, a really good lad to deal with.

Maverick nearly here.
Got a card through the door this morning saying it cannot be delivered because I owe a £15.43 Custom's charge.
Have I just been unlucky to get caught,

or was I just stupid not to know I would have to pay it?

Anything you get buy from abroad, i.e. from outside the EU, is liable for fees - VAT and/or Import Duty. The VAT will be exactly the same VAT you would pay on purchases here; the Duty only applies to certain items.
This is waived on single packages with a value of under 18 quid, but note that is the total cost declared, including transport.
Note that unless the VAT and Duty are paid in advance (which is relatively rare, and you the recipient would need to arrange it), then the carrier will also charge a handling fee for paying the VAT and Duty for you, and then recouping it from you. This is the bit that I find annoying, as often that charge is a flat rate that can be as high as the VAT/Duty.
On smaller items, you can sometimes get lucky, but you should always plan to have to pay it.
Also, if you are buying an item that should escape VAT charges because of being zero rated (like food items), you should make sure the seller declares it clearly on their customs declaration. Otherwise you will be charged standard VAT, and will not be able to claim this back after the fact.
