Anyone tried this? This must break all records for slow cooking!!! I so want to try this on my Kettle as soon as I can find a Dutch Oven big enough to hold everything.
Elephant Stew
Ingredients:
1 elephant
7 bushel carrots, chopped
7 bushel potatoes, chopped
7 bushel onions, chopped
Salt and pepper (to taste)
Brown gravy
2 rabbits (optional)
Dice elephant into small pieces. This should take about 2 months. Add enough brown gravy to cover. Season to taste. Cook over fire for 4 weeks. This will serve 3,800 people. If more are expected, add 2 rabbits, but only if necessary. Most people do not like to find a hare in their stew.

Sounds nice. We used to buy tinned elephant meat in South Africa. They sometimes had to cull some off so made money from it. Sold permits to join hunt, meat sold, skin sold and so on. I think only the ivory was handled separately.

You could always try spit roasting the elephant instead?!
We were really lucky to get up close with orphaned elephants in South Africa who were being cared for on a reserve by a 1-on-1 handler who even slept in the huts with them (albeit on a raised platform for fear of being crushed!). Amazing creatures & so ridiculously gentle for something so large.

Maybe wash it down with some Alligator Wine?
Take the blood out of an alligator,
Take the left eye out a fish,
Take the skin off of a frog,
and mix it all up in a dish
Add a cup of green swamp water
And then count from one to nine
Spill over your left shoulder
You got alligator wine
