Hello from The English Riviera

Post by Rivierabbq »

Hello there, been meaning to post for a while, now that i am finally on here.

Been doing family and friends barbecues for quiet a few years, just on open grills, until about 9 years ago i bought a Brinkmann Smoke n Pit....
I now have the S n P Pro also, and am thoroughly getting into the smoking side of things, especially the slow n low style....

I dont care what time of year it is, just get out there and cook.

Looking to possibly buy a ProQ Excel next, plus maybe mod either or both of the S n Ps... .... who knows...............

Welcome to the forum. It is good to find another person who doesn’t care what the weather is but just wants to BBQ. :D

Cheers for the welcome :D

Any weather BBQ has gotta be done.... Christmas Day, New Years Eve parties in the rain and snow, does it really matter?? ;)

Would love to get into the competition side of things eventually, plus have also been told be alot of people i know that attended a recent wedding that i should do it as catering etc , as the guy they had doing a 'bbq' at this wedding was truly awful!!!!!
BUT, i would want to get enough information and practice etc first, IF I did........

Being on the wetter side of Devon to you I've also learnt to BBQ in the rain, there's nothing a good waterproof coat can't help you cook. If you are interested in competing you should visit Grillstock in Bristol on from the 30th June, loads of friendly advice to inspire you to come back and compete in 2013, all without leaving the West Country!

Welcome aboard. Anything you want to know ask away.

There's no such thing as a silly question although you may occasionally get a silly answer

If you fancy competition, the IBQN has just opened up places at its comps that allow entry into two categories. Makes it a little easier going for your first time out and the teams that attend are all very helpful, you'd no doubt get a full walk through of everything you needed. Only problem is, once you start competing it's hard to stop.

I did the first ever BBBQS comp as a one off  didn't quite work out that way :D

Details can be found here http://www.bbbqs.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=1902
