1st Seasoning Burn on my UDS

Used 4 lumps of Beech,3/4 filled charcoal starter and 12 briquettes.
Temp has held@ 225 constantly for 2hr+.
Am going to open it up and see what I can get tops.

That's good - I'd see how long you can hold the lows as it'll give you a good indication of how hard you're going to have to work on low 'n' slow cooks if you want to do them.

What did you get on the high side?

Nearly 350, but the wind was not coming from a constant direction for me to be able to position the ball valve side into it.
Gave up and shut her down,most of the beech left this morning ,plus lots of charcoal.
1st real try this Sat, 2 huge racks, each off the whole belly!
I will try to get photos posted, but will have to get someone more puter savvy to do this for me!!!!
