BBQ'n in the rain

Hi guys, kind of new to poor weather BBQ'n and cooking anything other than cremated sausages, broken burgers and singed chicken.

So I was wondering with these nice expensive BBQs now, how do you guys cook in the rain?
Do you have shelters similar to the Costco things, of do you just let the Q get wet?

thanks for your replies :)

Personally I just use a big garden umbrella and some ziplock bags for my thermometers, although I have been known to stand in the garden holding an umbrella over a chimney starter full of charcoal whilst getting soaked in the process.

If your bbq has a lid, what more do you need? :D.
Why pay for a fancy awning, when you can spend the money on more q gagets :D

I bought a tarpaulin from B&Q. Fix it up between backdoor and fence. Plenty of room under it for chimneys and other stuff.

Now with added clamps for extra winy days. That thing is going nowhere. :-)

An oval garden umbella by the back door covers the route to the BBQ and a cheapish Gazebo covers the bbq area 8-) and the table & chairs (which don't get used that often in the rain  .
But a lid does help occassionaly

You've probably got more dingos, 'roos and billabongs in your garden then most of us have verandahs :D . A pergola wouldn't be of much use really being more a floral garden feature and I can't afford a porch so I stuck with a Hyundai ;)

This was sold as a log-store, but was easily repurposed.

Thanks for replies guys. Might try and get one of those big beer garden umbrellas then or a cheap gazebo.

My worry was the heat might do some damage, but obviously not

Although, I could install a chimney in the garage :)

Now Chris-m!!! Why didn't I think of that???? I've sold enough of them ;)
