Hi guys

If a place my thermostat on the grill then place a butt on top will I get an accurate cooking temperature from the stat?

You might be better placing it just to the side

Place the butt on top of the thermometer probe? I don't think you'll get an accurate reading that way - evaporative cooling and blah blah blah
