Barbecue Cookoff TV Show

Post by Toby »

Finally a barbecue show worth applying for! I received another call from a production company today and have qualified that this has already been signed off by a main channel for a primetime slot. Auditions will be held in approximately 4 weeks and filming will begin shortly afterwards.

This isn’t just for competitive BBQ cooks, if you think you can cook you should have a go!

Whizz Kid Productions are looking for the country’s very best amateur barbecuers to take part in a brand new TV cookery competition for a major broadcaster.

They are looking for creative cooks that can do more than just a succulent steak or sizzling sausages... so if your pulled pork is the pride of the cul-de-sac and your tandoor prawns are the talk of the town then we want to hear from you.
To apply please e-mail contestants@whizzkid.tv for an application form.

No, other priorities this year. It's funny how many people have asked me though!

sadly they're only filming during the week (nothing at weekends!) - and you need to be able to guarantee THREE weeks dedicated between Jun 6 and Jun 25 if you get to the final..

think this will limit applicants to unemployed, retired and street vendors??

That is correct I think - pros aren't allowed. I'm going to try and get the time off work, but I'm not holding much hope.

Quote from the entry form

*WE WILL CONSIDER APPLICANTS FROM PEOPLE WHO HAVE WORKED IN PROFESSIONAL KITCHENS IN THE PAST BUT NOT ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN OR IS CURRENTLY A FULLY PROFESSIONAL CHEF OR CATERER OR WHOSE MAIN INCOME COMES FROM COOKING.

Definitely p!$$ed off with the filming schedule....

Even though I'm waiting to find out if I can take the time off work I had a phone interview this morning. Don't think it went great, filming location is tbc but in London.
