Low 'n' Slow... BBQ As It Should Be!

We are the British BBQ Society, a social group that enjoys real BBQ. We're not talking about grilling a sausage or a burger but about slow cooking over a charcoal fire with a kiss of real wood smoke for flavour. But this is about more than just the food, it's about kicking back with a few drinks, some good friends, and having a laugh.

We have two competitions that run each year, the first in Tongham, Surrey in May and the National Final held at Rother Valley Country Park near Sheffield. Competition cooking is similar to American competitive BBQ, we cook whole briskets, pork shoulder, ribs and chickens. that's right we BBQ whole joints of meat, for up to 12 hours, and until you've tried them you would not believe how succulent, tender and tasty they turn out. We openly discuss tips, tricks and techniques, although we compete, our main aim is to promote good bbq and have fun with our friends.
