Built it tonight and gave a test fire up and it looks superb. Day off tomorrow so its pizza night and time to try it in anger for the ...

Chinese copy pit controllers - any experiences?
Has anyone had any experience with the eBay digital pit controllers that look basically like the BBQ Guru models? The usual question or low price vs quality is in my head but in some other hobby areas of mine these types of imported products have proven every bit as good or better than the market ...

Re: Placing kettle into worktop
Trying to plan something like this as well. How did you mount the kettles to the board or frame? I'm thinking of using an old stainless catering table with a cutout but can't find any brackets that will fix the kettle and leave a gap around it.

Re: BBQ Guru Party Q
Very tempted by a PartyQ for my WSM as well, but also wondering at what point. GMG Davy Crockett starts to make more sense? I might get one and I guess I can also sell it on if I upgrade in future. Look forward to hearing how you get on.

Re: Jumbuck spit roast - worth it?
8 left in Homebase Oxford - big pile of them boxed up with all their BBQ stuff.
There were 9 but I paid them a little visit earlier
Just got to work out what to cook first but I'm not allowed it until its my actual birthday!

Jumbuck spit roast - worth it?
I've found a little stock of one of these so just wondering if its worth a go? I have a Weber kettle and WSM, and was thinking of adding a rotisserie to the kettle anyway. The Jumbuck would save about £120 on that but without the ability to use a lid. birthday in a week so have been given the green ...

Smoked Magret de Canard - duck breast
I brought back a couple of magret de canard from the Dordogne this summer - lovely large duck breasts weighing 400g each. If you havent seen these huge ducks in the S of France before you'd think they were big geese! I've cooked these many times before but always just pan fried them the classic way ...
