Dr. Sweetsmoke nailed the Do and Don't. I will add:

Don't get discouraged if your smoke didn't turn out as well as you hoped.

Do look forward to your next smoke being better than your last one.

Getting to good / great BBQ is a learning process. Have fun learning, and you will get to great BBQ.

DO - ask lots of questions, even if you think it's a silly one! Take lots of pictures, you will see how you progress and so will we. Share your tips, if you find something that works share it, and same if it doesnt work. And finally, have fun and chill
