Hello from kent
Well my name is dan and for the last couple of years i have had a gas billyoh bbq which has served a good purpose. After buying the weber bbq book however i was hankering for a smoker because i am sick of just burgers and sausages and want some proper smoked shoulder, ribs or brisket Mmmmmmmmm.Anyway i sold the gas and have bought a smokey joe for little jobs and his big brother the 57cm one touch premium,i did want a dedicated smoker but they are to much money so decide for the premium as it has the removable ash tray and the temp gauge for long smokes.I will hopefully pick up a few tips from here and get some lovely smokey food going over the next few weeks.

From one man of Kent to another, hello and welcome!
These guys are great on here, and wealth of knowledge and experience, enjoy and good luck.
Still waiting for my first smoke of the year, i'm still a fair weather bbq'er and the moment

As for wood chunks I get mine from gouldens as not only does he offers many varieties, at a very good price, he is also a bloody nice bloke. http://bbqsmokingwood.co.uk/bbqbob wrote:Would like to say hello to im also from Kent. I'm sure if you sort me out with the wongar before mayhem in May? I can get you what you need in sacks as he will be delivering to the competition.
I get my meat from a great little butchers in Ashford called marlows. He understand the term Boston butt and when I ask him for a brisket, they are a full piece and not rolled.

Cheers Eddie I'm in Medway so ashfords not that far, I've got my brisket from court farm in halling last week he cut it off the bone for me while I was there and trimmed it too, but haven't been able to find anywhere else. I,ll check out your wood guy too
