Lump wood advice please

Hi guys,

Got my big BBQ party this weekend and really wanted to get some restaurant grade lump wood.
I read on a previous post that makros do it so I went down there today but they don't. It seems they only have it online so I went to order it but it doesn't give me any delivery options. I don't really wonna fork out for it and it turn up next week. Can any one suggest something I can get locally I.e not online? I plan on using my new pro q frontier to smoke some ribs so it's gotta be able to keep goin for a while, there Is a tesco petrol garage near that sell big k lump wood is that any good?

Depending on where in the UK you are, some of the larger garden centres stock Big K, they do locally to me. If you look online you will also find sites that sell Big K 15kg bags, which are great.

If you have a store called "The Range" they stock Big K lump & briquettes (they are the domestic side of Wickes), but when you ask what can you get locally it's easier to answer if we know where you are geographically . You should be able to sustain a cook with briquettes I'd have thought

Big K do a number of different grades of lumpwood charcoal. But the answer is that yes, all the Big K stuff I've tried is good. Have a look on their website here for the explanations of the different types of lump they do: http://www.bigkproducts.co.uk/Catalog-S ... el_29.aspx

Also, a slightly more expensive (usually) option is to try local farm shops - they often have locally produced lumpwood. Although from the few types I have tried, UK produced lump doesn't seem to have much hardwood included & thus doesn't burn for as long as lump that does. Hence I ordered the 15kg Big K lump.

I'm in Bexley, kent. I might have used the wrong terminology when I said locally what I ment was what can I go and get from a shop rather then online.

I think I'll go with the big k lump wood that I can get from round the corner if you guys say it's good then that's good enough for me.
