Hi All
I have recently had my Weber 57cm one touch premium & done Beer Can Chicken on it twice now, both times turned out great.I used a M&S whiskey flavour wood chip.
First question is,the chickens i used were a small & a medium size both touching the lid,any advice on this? is there a part to higher the lid up,like a spacer ring? or any other technique ?
Second,i love the flavour of the BCC,what else is an easy newbie meat to cook in this way?
**Edit**
Third Question, are the Superfast Thermapens,a good starter thermostat or should i be looking at something else?
Thanks for any advice/tips
Ian

Re: A Couple of questions
Yes, Weber makes a rotisserie adaptor that fits between the top and bottom. However, you can try the following.
Build your coals to either side (I prefer to place some on each side) using a fireplace brick to hold the coals against the sides. Do not use the cooking grate. Place the chicken in the holder with liquid pan directly onto the charcoal grate. That will give you the clearance you are looking for.
Good luck,
Benny

Re: A Couple of questions
Stick with the idea of putting the coals either dide in indirect grilling, use a metal roasting tin lined with foil (easy clean up) this will help keep the coals in place. Don't bother with the Weber Rotisserie, yes the extender ring does work but unless you are planning on spit roasting a lot, as we do, then it's a lot of money for BCC.
Try a small pork shoulder joint, or ribs, there are loads of hints and tips on here or youtube regarding ribs etc.

Re: A Couple of questions
Cheers Guys,
I have been putting my coals on just one side,so will try it on both sides,i presume i use the same amount of coals but just shared out between both sides.
I have bought a Superfast Thermapen,off Ebay for £28.80 delivered.Its from the manufactures,just referb models etc...quite a saving.
I will look into the shoulder & ribs
Thanks again

Re: A Couple of questions
Same amount of coals, split to either side this saves you having to turn the chicken and keeps the smoke in. Just about everyone uses Thermapen, and loads of us got them fro eBay. Some lucky people are spnsored by them which just shows the quality of the product
