BBQ'n in the rain

Feel free to ask any questions, one of the experts will certainly respond, don't be afraid to ask anything, we were all beginners at some point.

I've got a parasol that I can use for everyday cooks or a I break out he gazebo if I'm going to be using multiple grills/smokers. Don't think rain has ever stopped me from cooking outside. If it is very windy outside that's a lot more difficult to cope with

I keep intending to extend the flue out through the side or roof, but have found that the smoke hasn't actually been that much of an issue - although the overlap keeps the rain from coming in, it lets the smoke out.

Another idea was to put a box in the roof, and duct the flue through that, as a cold smoking box. But I wasn't sure if it would be cool enough for safe cold smoking (above the grill - perhaps not), and I have a ProQ Cold Smoke Generator anyway.

The problem I have with the rain is that I forget to put the cover back on the BBQ. Did a pizza on the OTG last night, the BBQ was still hot so left the cover off and of course this morning it was sodden with rain.
