Cheap pellet grill needing conversion

Post by Chris__M »

Nothing to do with me, just something I spotted on ebay and thought it might be of interest to someone:

The fact that it is a US model needing conversion will put a lot of people off, so I expect this to go quite cheaply. To convert, it will need is a new 240V auger motor, fan and cartridge heater (hot rod), none of which should cost that much. It will also need a new 240V controller, which is probably the expensive bit. However, for anyone who wanted to experiment with "rolling their own" PID controller, this may be a bargain.

Not for the faint hearted or inexperienced, however.

The simpler alternative would be to run it from a *suitable* 240 to 110 step down transformer, leaving the 110V components in place.

I saw that, it's basically a rebranded Traeger Lil' Tex.

If anyone decides to go for it and just use a 240-110 converter I’ve got a digital thermostatic controller for it which is doing nothing.
