Anyone tired using crab apple?.

I've a dead tree i the garden that came down in a storm a few years ago, is it worth a try for smoking?

It's a fruit tree - so don't see why it wouldn't work. I just did a quick Google on this and it seems many people are happily using crab apple wood for smoking.
