Went in today, in Swindon, they had had only the tool holder and the wood chips left; the planks were sold out as was the warming rack.

I just built a whole brick oven (and it's massive)
Although I have used pizza stones in the past, I've had varying degrees of success. One was fantastic, but randomly broke after about 30 or so uses. No idea why it broke, except there was a lot of steam in the oven at this point, not sure if this was the only cause, or it was just from wear and tear.
I have one left boxed up my work colleagues bought me (before the oven was finished), I'll save this for the time I run out of wood for outside!
Seriously though they help produce amazing pizzas, but make sure it's heated to hell and back before putting your pizza on it. My pizza oven hearth hits 550+ degrees C before I put pizzas in. 90 seconds later and they are done - and yes you usually need to see it to believe it!

I have read that the best pizza stones are made of granite. Off cuts from a granite counter manufacturer are the best bet!

My brick oven, built with 100+ year old bricks. Not the finest brick work - I'd never laid a brick before in my life before starting and It's not yet finished, a few things need finishing off, the roof (will be natural slate tiles) which I'm doing this weekend, cutting the roof line so it's a straight line (rather than jagged, uneven bricks and a entrance slab to level the entrance off with the floor of the oven. I'm also building a 2 inch thick Oak door tomorrow to use when the fire has gone out to retain the heat.
I will upload some decent pics of me cooking in it soon. I plan to fire her up again Friday evening, with enough retained heat to bake bread all day Saturday.
The wall jutting out to the left will be capped with a giant polished concrete slab... a bar top

Amazing. What are the internal dimensions? Is it one of thise Pompeii DIY ones from forno brava?
