I found the holy trinity of open top, food grade, and unlined drums, and a snip at £10!
Dealt with really nice guy called Bobby - 07557 671107. He keeps them in his pallet yard at 39 Consort Rd, Peckham.
They used to contain a food safe lubricant used in factories for food jars etc. There was a bit left but it wiped out really easily.
Not sure if this is the right thread to share finds, let me know if it's better off somewhere else and I'll re-post.
I'll stick up a pic of my drum once I've painted it up, although I don't expect it to be anything other than ugly
