Well we got here - eventually! After the usual long flight and ridiculously long queue in u.s immigration and missing our connecting flight and being spewed on by the woman behind us in the queue! But so glad to have left behind this view from the plane window at heathrow

For 95 degrees here in Atlanta!

Sorry can't get the link to work, but I imagine it's a picture of a part of the UK basking in glorious summer sunshine, or pouring with rain.

Have fun, win lots

Well not too good with the results so far. We were 48th out of 59 teams overall. Myron came GC. It really was a very strong field with jacks old south, cool smoke, bubba q, Chatham artillery, lotta bull, butt rub, swamp boys. We did manage an 18th place in ribs though beating all of the above except jacks old south and butt rub so there was a small consolation.

As soon as I can get photobucket working I will - or if I can find a better way.

One interesting analysis is that when we came 14th in California in April we scored 645 and this time we actually improved our score to almost 648. :?
Still need to improve by 50 points more though

Just out of interest, did the judges make any comments that point you in the right direction for those 50 points or is it left to guess work trying to figure out what they want?

All the best,

Lee

Lee it's pretty much left to guess work - sometimes you will get a comment card but it's rare - we had a card this time from judge number 1 who scored our pork 9 for appearance 8 for taste and 9 for tenderness and they said 'a little too salty otherwise it would have been a 9' which is perfect. Judge 5 scored the same pork as a 5 in taste and therefore should've given a comment card but didn't?
