Son of Hibachi clone

Having avidly read the above topic I did some research online and found this on Amazon

It arrived yesterday and we'll be cooking on it this evening, sorry the pictures uploaded in reverse order (user malfunction, sorry)

There are a couple of obvious differences in the way it's packaged but in all other instances it seems identical, even to the maniacal way they suggest lighting it, 3 briquettes in the ashtray and a paper towel soaked in bbq lighter fuel. I'll follow the idea Cuan & co suggest with a solid fuel brick.

Why did we get it................................................well our faithful little gas picnic bbq had great problems on it's last outing getting up to a decent temperature. Also it's neat :D but don't tell the food taster that ;)

Evening all. Gorgeous day for a bbq!

Keith will post some photos tomorrow and mention the bbq technical bits that I know you fanatics love. I, on the other hand will comment on the end products.

The first meat product that Keith cooked on the Hibachi clone was bacon, which turned out well. Lovely bacon flavour, texture and smell 8-)

For dinner we had rib eye steaks, Keith prefers his rare and I like mine medium rare. Well, they came out perfect. Combination of Keith's excellent cooking skills and the clone worked well together. Yes my darling husband it was a good buy ;)

The clone has now been successfully adopted into the bbq family (I'm not giving them individual names) :D

Root brew.....not a fan of ginger but was a gift from a guy in work after supplying pulled pork rolls for lunch...

The rootbeer is a nice long drink over ice, and just reward for your lunchtime treat.

Image Nice crisp fat and succulent bacon.

It's burgers for tea so we'll see what happens if I curb my impatience and let it get hot enough ;) And that's the techy bit, to let it get hotter :oops:
