First try of new smoker

Post by DArby »

My first attempt with a Camp Chef Smoke Vault Gas smoker.

Decided to try Beef Ribs, and Baby backs - both had different rubs added night before, and were smoked using Mesquite.

How many do you fancy ?

Oh no - no room for Salad and Potatoes...

Both tasted really good - Think the Beef could possibly have done with being wrapped for some of the cooking time, as after 8 hours total cook time unwrapped they still had a little chew in them, though very moist.

I'm impressed with how little gas it used being on for 9 hours - the 13kg bottle still felt as heavy as when i got it out the garage.

If we get another dry weekend, i shall be trying a rack of spare ribs that are sitting in the freezer....

Hi Dean

Those cuts of meat look good. There's always room for a salad....Potato salad ;)

Carbs and protein, match in heaven :D
