HelP!

Post by Pecker »

Stuck at a fundraiser. Been volunteered to do the BBQ.

It's gas and the burgers are frozen. Quarter pounders, by the look.

Tips?

I'm guessing low temp 15-20 mins?

Sorry, posting from phone.

IMHO I'd cook on high to brown them, and consolidate their shape, then move to a cooler area to cook through at a lower temp, if there is no cooler area, put a couple of layers of foil down as a thermal break much like the old difusers you used to get for gas rings. If you try to cook them low first there is a good chance they'll thaw out and fall apart rather then cook properly.

Top fast answer.

It's a four burner. Maybe turn outside burners on, inside off and cook indirect?

Massive thanks for your help.

It was pretty good. Not that busy, maybe 50 burgers and as many sausage hot dogs in two and a half hours. As the time went by, presumably due to the grill getting hotter and the burgers defrosting, the burgers took less time to cook. Started off at 20, then down to 15 minutes by the end.

A pleasant Sunday afternoon. The event raised a few hundred quid for the After School Playgroup.

KNACKERED!

Thanks again

Most commercial frozen burgers are designed to be cooked from frozen. Just use common sense and your thermapen :-)
