Any recommendations?

I see there are a fair few plastic ones - and most seem to be the same, just re-branded (like the Pro Q one).

Though not available in the UK (as far as I can see) there is a stainless steel one too. Unfortunately Amazon will not send it to the UK Might have to grab one next time i'm over - or have a friend send one.

I'm all ears though - what do you all use and recommend? When it comes to plastic stuff, i'm thinking it is just a matter of time before it breaks. I'd rather pay double and get something durable.

However there have been several posts recommending vet's syringes available from farm supply shops, as the bore of the injector leaves a highly visible trail through the meat. Probably that's only a worry for comps, but have a look at the one in the link it does what it says on the card.

Yes, tat is te one Keith referred to. My only concern is it is plastic.

I have been using one similar to the one in Keith's link for about a year now, here is the link to a review that I posted when I first got it ....

It has not been used a great number of times but it has worked well and I have no complaints with the kit considering the initial cost.

The "fancy box" is really very good, it holds everything in place with no rattling around, but, it is a devil to open! You need an extra pair of hands to pry up the catches and then flip the lid up, it can take almost as much time getting the equipment out of the box as the time spent using it, the flip side is you know that once everything is back in the box, it's staying in there!!

As for cleaning the needles, I just suck and squirt a load of hot soapy water through it followed by clean hot water and let them drain dry, apart from boiling them I have no other ideas of what can be done to them, I guess it depends on how strict you want to be about food safety (I've seen a lot worse going on in restaurants!)

I was worried that the needle with holes on the side would clog up if you had 'bits' in your injecting solution, but I can see how sucking water through would fix ths - thanks.
