eBay smoker
Thinking of buying one of these to work alongside my ProQ Excel, has anyone ever seen these or used one?

Never used one but it looks very similar to ones sold here in the states. I have heard that they are difficult to control the heat level in. Like I say, though, never have used one. Let us know if you pull the trigger on it.

I'm not so sure that I'd like to use it indoors as is claimed and I believe the price will reflect the quality. A well built offset cooker new will cost around 8 times that price. Check out ebay Germany for BBQ smokers and you'll see the different levels of quality.

Oh good heavens, I didn't see that when I looked at the ebay advert. That's just not a good idea at all unless you have a huge commercial ventilation system. People die from using charcoal burners indoors. Of course, this doesn't reflect on this grill's worth, but I do agree with joker smoker when he says you get what you pay for.
Re: eBay smoker
Does anyone know if the following smokers are sold in the UK?

Don't know but I do know that Rumo are supposed to be good offsets, they're not cheap though http://www.forfoodsmokers.co.uk/acatalog/Rumo_Smokers.html

Re: eBay smoker
IMHO spend less than a grand on an offset and you won't be getting a good quality piece of kit.
This may be junk but at £100 is it worth a punt?

Is it an offset you want or do you just want more smoking capacity? Also if you let us know your budget we can possibly advise a suitable solution.

Re: eBay smoker
Thanks for all your replys
I was looking for the offset smokers as I'm using a ProQ Excel and getting fed-up of having to lift everything off to get to food in lower sections and also it is quite difficult to add more charcoal. I liked the idea of the height of the offset smoker as well. Was lookin to spend around £300 but would go up to £400

Re: eBay smoker
At that kind of money any offset you get might need a bit of bodging to work well. Also it'll be wafer thin steel. Unfortunately offsets are expensive but that's because they take a lot of work to make and have a lot of steel in them. I'm not saying don't buy one, just be aware what you might be getting.
That one I gave the link to might be ok and at a oner, it's not a massive risk to take. Otherwise there's chargriller and brinkmann models around in that price range.
Another thing to remember is that offsets tend to take some attention to maintain temps, particularly cheaper ones.
