First attempt at ribs

Post by gunman »

Had my first go at some ribs today. We got some rib racks yesterday and decided to have a go at smoking them today, luckily the weather cleared up around 10am so BBQ was lit about 11.30. I did them about 250f, 2.5 hours , then foiled with a small amount of apple juice, back on for another hour, then out of the foil to be coated in JD BBQ sauce and back on for 30 mins. I had made up my own dry rub for it (left over from last week's pulled pork) and smoked with hickory.

For a first attempt I'm very happy with them, they weren't dry at all and had great flavour. Anyway, here's a pic:

You guys on here keep giving me ideas of things to be cooking on the Q and I thank you for it! Think I'll try some more pulled pork next and foil this time, just to see the difference.
