Hi from Peterborough
Hello everyone
I'm Neil from Peterborough. I've been smoking food for several years after a trip to the States when I realised I just had to improve on burnt sausages and cook some food like the great ribs they serve over there.
Several years ago, my wife bought me a Brinkmann ECB which I've had much fun with and have cooked some great tasting food. My family think I'm nuts for getting up at 2 in the morning to get some pork butts on the go to be ready for big family events later in the day but they don't complain about the food!
I've just splashed out on a 22" Weber Smokey Mountain and am really looking forward to getting cooking with it. I'll need to get practising as I'm feeding about 60 people at the end of June.
If I'm not out cooking in the garden, I'll probably be out touring on my Harley
Ok I'm off to read about your experiences on the forum
Cheers for now
Neil

Hi Neil
If you feel like it, we could meet up some time in the summer and compare notes - I am only in Market Deeping!
My story is very much like you - a couple of trips to the States inspired me to learn a little more about BBQ. I started off with a Weber Kettle, but my main beast now is a Traeger Pellet Grill.
I think you're nuts for getting up a 2am as well
- I tend to cook my pulled pork one or two days in advance, and reheat it on the day. Then again, I work from home, so I am around for long cooks during the day.
Anyway, give us a shout if you fancy meeting up.
Chris

Welcome to the forum
You'll enjoy using the WSM
Sounds like you'll need a nice Brisket on it to feed 60 in June,
I wish I could design an access door to reach the fire basket like the WSM has
