Sear marks....
Do you want to cheat to add perfect sear marks, well get yourself a £2 disposable grill from asda. It has a expanded metal mesh as the grate. Rip this out and put it on your pit, you'll get perfect diamond sear marks .....

Nice idea, clever. I'll have a look for 1, I was wanting to get something that I could cook my meat on, then lift it off the grill, (not via forks or tongues) - something that would keep it flat and not disturb any 'additions' to the top of it. Perhaps bend two corners and use pliers etc.
