Gloves (with flexible fingers

I know people use welding mitts, but is anyone using gloves with flexible fingers?

Picking up skewers (Weber dual prong) is proving a bit of an issue with my silicon mitt.

I got a pair of "magic gloves" off ebay for £7, heat res. and grip. Single gloves varied from£4 to £12, so look around

I've got a pair of glovens that I like. Don't forget you can pick up a lot of things just using a good set of tongs

I have both "Magic Gloves" not particularly attractive they are openweave Nomex(if going for those get the gauntlet it has longer "sleeves") also I have a pair of Gloven which are sized IMHO extremely small I usually take medium sized gloves but my Gloven are XL.

A daft statement but worth mentioning do not confuse food handling gloves with heatproof ones. If you think this is obvious there are a lot of reviews on Amazon.COM mentioning that these insulated rubber gloves melted and stuck to the bars whilst they were re-arranging their grids.
I feel its much safer to move grids and grates with gloves than with tongs on a purely Health & Bleeding Safety basis. Also you do get what you pay for, the cheaper gloves are not as good as Magics or Gloven (Gloven are made to the same styling & tolerences as F1 gloves), they also all wash in the machine. The Magics even close their weave up tighter when washed and have the advantage that they are not "handed" like a normal glove & Gloven they are like latex/vinyl search gloves as they can be put on either hand.

Geordie lad,
Consider myself rather an expert in this area, I am blind and arrange my coals by hand, this means a pair of really decent gloves is essential.

I use glove ins and they are brilliant, more than plenty for most of the usual bbq jobs. 2 things to note, under no circumstances let them get wet and then use for hot work the water will boil in the weave and you shall do the dance of the fek, fek, fek bird.

Also with extreme use over time the ends go a little crispy and you lose layers and you will potentially end up having to give your eldest son some sage counsel....I did as I performed the fek fek dance and he advised that "I thought they were getting a bit worn dad"

Apart from this they are top banana and I highly recommend

That's a good call by Keith on the sizing of Glovens. Fortunately I got to try mine on before buying. In a similar vein to Tiny beware of hot fat, I once had an experience of hot fat soaking through the gloves whilst carrying some meat. It was a race to get the meat to its destination and gloves off before my hands were deep fried.
