Hi Guys

really enjoyed reading through a lot of the forum as I'm currently in the process of building a bbq smoker trailer. Mainly for personal use but it would be nice to supply a festivals or wedding a long the way. I'm calling my self 'Orchard Smoke' as we are from Somerset. I've got a background in the culinary sector but BBQing is my passion. The one thing I am a little unsure of is whether I need a refrigerated van to transport the meat or whether I should get a normal van and have a chest freezer or another cooling device that I could use a log the way. Any advice would be hugely appreciated as I am probably entering a world of pain.

Thanks for the responses. I;m based in South Somerset and hoping to cover the South West in the first year. I've teamed up with a local welder who's giving me a hand. We're using rolled mild steel for the cooking chambers. Has anyone done this or doing this that knows of some helpful tips or things that I might have missed on the way or any advice that will help me on my BBQ journey.

Nope, but I'm looking into it myself. Someone on here made one from a water bowser trailer which is an awesome idea, apart from that big old LPG tanks seem to make good ones but speaking to my local steel supplier he thought rolled sheet steel would be the best way to go and use sheet steel to cap the ends so I'd need someone with a plasma cutter to cut the ends unless I hire one.

I need to do more research as I am limited in my towing capacity (no B+E entitlement and it costs far too much to go and do) and no idea how heavy a trailer will be once created so no idea what size axle kit to look at.
