Hello from rainy Tunbridge Wells

Post by Mark Lott »

Hi all I'm brand new to the forum, and thought it only polite to say hi. Loved, cooked and eaten BBQ for years, but just built my first oil drum smoker and plan to try it out for the first Time tomorrow, so here for a few ideas for my meat choice!

Start simple chicken thighs and cheaper cuts until you have a good grasp of the ways and means of your particular "beastie".Supermarket pork shoulders are a good starting point as well.

Good lad, doing it the same way as me, it started with a drum....

Actually I still just have the one drum but I NEED something much bigger now.

Get a pack of unsmoked bacon and just lie a couple of slice on the food grill for about 40 mins next to the other food, makes a great snack while your waiting for the other stuff to cook, oh and make a fattie:
