Whilst there is no wrong time to BBQ, sadly here in the UK there is a wrong time to get set up for it. Hopefully the Heat Beads will be there in time.MattJaySmoker wrote:I've got some Fuel Express lump from my local petrol garage, but also ordered some heat beads from Toby today hoping they come in time for the weekend. At least I have a plan B to go to if they don't come in time
To be honest it looks I just got into smoking at the completely wrong time of year

Hi
To be honest I have no idea if im allowed to add people onto my membership like Costco, I don't actually go there that often.
If I was you id just fill out the online membership form like I did and then go there with your id they need to see, they didn't even look at mine just gave me a card and offered me a tour, I just took the wife and kids round for a look got some charcoal and left.
There is a Weber centre near me that is open year round and stocks 3 different types of Weber charcoal, the last lot I got was very good, went all night on a pork shoulder.
Have a look for them online as they do have another shop somewhere else, might be close to you.
The one I use is at the Riverside Garden Centre in Hertingfordbury
I will have a look as ive finished work for the day now
Just had a look, this is the only weber centre, there is another Riverside Garden Centre but its in Bristol.

Ok thanks no worries. I could go to the riverside in Hertford when I'm down visiting the folks in Langford and friends in Cheshunt, not a biggie
Looking forward to tomorrow's cook now!

Hi Matt,
We should talk!
I live in Wakefield and have over the past couple of years looked for many things locally.
Charcoal: there is a place near xscape where you can get generic 'blue bag' restaurant grade charcoal. I have ordered a pallet from big k before... When I do I usually post to see if anyone wants to buy some from me. I could let you have a 15kg bad of big k.
Meat: I tend to buy form morissons... If you talk to the butchers in store they will sell you larger cuts before they are chopped into 'regular' sized pieces. I have 2.5kg+ piece of brisket brining in the fridge which was £6 per kg. they don't do shoulder on the bone but I have discussed with local butcher in Wakefield.
Rubs: blacker hall farm shop have some as they are a big green egg reseller. There ok, but not cheap.
Pm me if you want to talk more.
Nick

Cheers Nick will drop you a pm tomorrow instead of spamming the forums. I could talk about meat and bbq all day (and easily get carried away) without realising it!
