Brisket in uk?

Anyhoo, where do you buy brisket from? I think morrisons sell it but is that a no no? To be honest I'd only want a small cut for 2-4 people which also reduces cooking time.

Any tips for cooking? High n fast or low n slow? Was thinking of trying soon and also getting a syringe to inject a marinade in along with a rub on top

I either went to a butcher or costco for mine.

Any supermarket that has an in-store butcher should be able to cut you want you want.

I have seen brisket for sale in Morrisons, once I get competent at smoking I will buy one from there.

I avoid the supermarkets if I can - Find a local butcher, build a good relationship and they'll cut you whatever you want - They also tend to source locally and pay the farmers a better price.

The stuff that they provided for Grillstock & that i've bought from them before wasn't up to scratch in my opinion.

Whilst very nice, at £23 per kg (wholesale price) you want to make sure you know what your doing with brisket before going out and spending that kind of money on one.

Aubrey Allen's standard brisket is the best (non wagyu) that i've found in the UK and i regularly cook them in contests and win with them. I'll be cooking one at a contest this weekend.

Also at the cheaper end of the market, i've had some good results with booker rolled briskets, if you can get access to one.

I normally like to cook a 6-7kg brisket for competitions, so imagine my thoughts when first told this price. It would work out as between £138-£161 per brisket

That was the last price that i was quoted by them, but it was a long time ago so i don't know if the pricing has got any better?
