Brisket in uk?
Re: Brisket in uk?
Would you pay £160 if it gave you the edge in competition?

No, even I think it's far too much to pay and I've used some pretty expensive meat and gone to extreme lengths to make sure I have the best meats possible.

I don't compete so my ideas are all for home cooking. I would start with supermarkets/butchers offerings to start with for both brisket and pork shoulder. Once you get your techniques for flavourings and cooking then move up in size and, if needed, quality.

I wouldn't have thought that the increase in quality vs the increase in price would be equal there, that's a frightening amount of money to be spending on a single piece of meat!

Have a look online at the major meat suppliers there are plenty of them and this gives listings of local suppliers. Most UK beef is grass fed and winter finished indoors.
