I would be interested in what you find.
We found a source of wood shavings and sawdust, we could take as much as we wanted for nothing, but it was a mixture of Oak (ok), Walnut (may be a bit strong, not sure of the mix ratio) and Tulipwood (?).
Not having any guarantee of how the wood had been handled, treated etc, we took it all down the dump.
At least with "smoking dust" you know the sawdust is food grade.

This much is true Derek, and I'll only get dust from this mill if I can be satisfied of its purity.

The sawmill is in a hardwood woodland, with no softwood being produced or felled, so it's a good start! Unfortunately they are only open a few hours a week, and it's on the other end of town so I have to be picky with my timing!

That's a fair bit cheaper than the link Derek provided. Perhaps a backup for if I have no joy at the sawmill. Watch this space I will report back....

I've just sent an email to a place that I *think* will have a huge variety available. I'll let you know how it works out

Shows you need to keep checking prices.
12 months ago those prices were similar to Turans.
Now those bulk prices are certainly well worth it, 40% savings
Thanks Dave.
Might "Go compare" some of my other suppliers....
