Street Food at the Gherkin
Every Thursday a number of street food vendors set up outside the Gherkin in the City of London and serve up some magical treats. The City of London Corporation is trying to kill this off. Please sign the link at the bottom to help us get this food fascism stopped.
In light of the City of London Corporation's immediate termination of KERB's street food market at The Gherkin, we are launching a campaign to Make The City of London Taste Better.
The Gherkin remains hugely supportive of our weekly Midday-2pm slot on the plaza at 30 St Mary Axe. The City of London Corporation don’t feel the same, deeming the market unsightly and unbecoming of such an iconic building. Land usage forms the technical aspect of the closure, but the main argument calls for an aesthetic lock down on the City of London, and a harsh rebuke of the independent street food entrepreneurs who have seen their businesses flourish in its environs since November 2012

Thanks guys. Don't normally get involved in petitions but this affects my stomach. I also passionately believe in street and market food and the life that it brings to an area.

Hi Connor.
It worked, KERB have just emailed to say it will be back from next Thursday.
Just need to get an early lunch sorted...

I saw yesterday that The Ribman has found a new pitch not too far from there (Aldgate) as well - with potential for him to sell from there twice a week.
Re: Street Food at the Gherkin
The problem is the media is promoting artisan street food, but local councils just don't know what to do with them.
