wireless probe

Just been googling but i cant find anything in the UK for less the 60 quid.

Is there a UK supplier of wireless probes to use in my proQ and weber 57?

I've gone through a few cheap electronic probes that werent wireless. I think I must have spent about £50 all told on equipment which was pretty much useless (one died from exposure to a tiny bit of rain, another to sun, one just fell apart).

Eventually gave in and bought a maverick, wish I'd not fannied around now. Word of warning though. I left mine standing on top of the smoker because the wires aren't long enough to stretch to my table. Now they sell them with longer wires. Get that, or risk a melted transmitter - I worry about the weatherproofing of it now!

Where did you get yours from?

I had a ETI one cost me less than a 5ver but was brilliant, its died now but had it two years or so

You'll not regret it, £60 well spent in the grand scheme of things.

Might be worth calling them to see if they stock the longer cables, it would be well worth your while. They're a helpful bunch!

Lidl sold one for £13 - works ok. As with everything, it is seasonal with them - perhaps they will bring them back.

Wow, I missed out on that one - I get their newsletter, so I'll keep my eyes peeled! Could do with some extra for bigger cooks. Does it have alarms and all that? Asking a lot for £13 I guess!

Yes it has a programmable temperature alarm one one probe.

They are both still going strong, used regularly in the kitchen. My daughter doesn't have a garden nor any communal space to set up her BBQ so I can't say how far the wireless works at the moment.

Sounds like a good buy that! i will peal the eyes.

Ideally i want one with two probes, one for the chamber of secrets one for the goods.

I have a trusty thermopen - best thing i ever bought ever.
