Hi from hertfordshire.
Hi all,
I was recommended this site by someone and I must say it looks great!
I have just started to step my game up and take my Q more serious after watching all of BBQ Pitmasters. (I guess like some of you)
So far I a building a nice collection. 2 basic back garden grills, a 57cm weber kettle and in the last month my new toy Weber Smokey Mountain 57cm.
I also picked up a copy of Big Bob Gibson's cookbook and I must say it has changed the quality of my cook significantly.
Look forward to talking to you all!
Paul

Thanks for the nice comments guys. I am in Stevenage so close to a few of you.
it looks like there is no competition team from Herts if any of you fancy getting together and giving it a punt when were ready!
I heard that Sunday may be a nice day... Anyone cooking?

Hi Paul
Im Welwyn Garden City
Gave a little lesson last night to a friend thats starting up, shes stevenage. She got a pork shoulder from tesco.
I showed her my way of trimming the meat, setting up the smoker and my dry rub. She made me salted caramel fudge
Anyway it was one of my best pulled porks and was absolutely gutted to see it go off with her.
Theres a few of us from Herts on here.
Welcome and I learnt so much from this forum,,there is so much info on here.
Good luck

Re: Hi from hertfordshire.
It certainly is a small world slats. I even work at the Tesco.com office in WGC.
Sounds like your friend enjoyed the lesson. Trimming is certainly my weakness. A) I need to find some affordable sharp knifes. B) I just cut anything in sight that I do not like the looks of
Have you found anywhere in the area good for meat? I have been going to the farm in Aston which has a small butchers on site. Seems to be ok.
Great to see yet another member from the area on here
Cheers,
Paul
