Think Tiny has it spot on - start with a OTP and it will teach you everything you need to know. Then
if you decide it is the way to go - then invest in a WSM or equivalent.

I think tiny is saying not to go with a OTP but rather a one touch original which doesn't have the ash catcher. Personally I think the ash catcher is useful and worth a bit extra. But agreed that with a bit of work you can low and slow on a kettle
