Meatloaf & Beer Can Chicken with a twist.

Post by Swindon_Ed »

Hello all,

Just about to put a couple of items on the smoker, just thought i'd share what i'm doing.

First of all is my meatloaf. I've never cooked it before but saw it being cooked on TV and a few people have said that it's great on the smoker.

I've got the recipe from Nigella Lawson (not personally ) and below is my meatloaf before i put it on the smoker.

Now for the Beer Can Chicken, with a twist.

I love the way the chicken stays moist and the beer adds flavour and i'm looking to cook my Christmas Beer Can style to save on needing to brine the turkey before putting it on the smoker.

But i don't really think that beer tasting turkey will be to everyone's taste (especially my mother), so i'm trying the beer can style with some more traditional flavours.

Which are below.

I've cut the lid off the can and chucked everything in the can.

Then just sit the bird on the can, rub it with oil and salt, then it's ready for the smoker.

Not sure how this chicken is going to turn out, and i'm sure i'll have some bbq purists up in arms. But i'm gonna give it a go and let you know how it turns out.

Looks very tasty Ed, thanks for sharing that! I'm guessing there wasn't much left.

It's really good but also very filling so we've still got a bit left.

Looking forward to the leftovers sandwich i'll be taking to work tomorrow :D
