Which fuel for long cook

Post by BRUN »

I'm thinking of ordering a packer brisket from turner and george to smoke in my 47WSM, I don't really want to add fuel mid cook, should I go with heat beads or lumpwood from big k ?

I used heat beads on Saturday. Lit at 4am using the minon method and a BBQ guru run for 16 hours at 225F clay saucer in water pan. Not sure how much fuel is left. WSM 57cm.
Cheers Dennis

well Big K are out of ACH15 for 'a couple of weeks' so I think I might have to go the head beads route anyway :(

Just ask for the 15kg restaurant grade big k bags. Not as good as the boxed ach15 but we use it on all our cooks and it does very well

Thanks, I've already bought heat beads but I'll keep it in mind for the future
