dirt cheap offset smoker

I saw a guy in the office looking at this from a distance and assumed it was a landmann or something, then he sent me the link and I couldn't believe the price. I still pointed him in the direction of a basic Weber kettle because you can't go wrong with those, but the price on this still amazes me.

I can only assume it's pretty thin steel, low quality and that it has the usual offset issues of leakage and would require modifications for heat distribution and a grill level chimney... but even so... £80? It's almost tempting just to have a play. Anyone seen one of these in action?

The condiments shelf sells it for me, I do find it over so inconvenient when I forget to bring them out for my guests

Never seen one in action but I would expect your fears of thin steal and poor quality would prevail.

That smoker looks suspiciously like one I bought in the Range last autumn (for £60 if I remember rightly). They are thin steel, and leak big time, but still great fun to practice on. Good for indirect smoking, and then pouring a chimney starter full of coals in the main chamber to sear over direct heat.

It's a cheap and nasty one, you just need to look at the size of the legs and the fittings, the original oklahoma joe's are a lot more sturdier.
