Diesel Barrel
Diesel Barrel
So is a 55 gallon barrel that held diesel any use for a bbq. Is there a way of cleaning out totally. I have read a couple of ideas like putting sand in first to soak up any residue then washing powder to get rid of the oil but ultimately I want to know if it will ever be clean enough.

Re: Diesel Barrel
There are mixed opinions on this one. Some say a hot burn is good enough for any barrel but others wouldn't touch anything not deemed 'food safe'. Personally I would have a good long look for something a bit less potent before I'd use a diesel barrel just to be safe. Where abouts in the country are you?

Hi
I am in Northamptonshire. I've just been offered this barrel for free so not too fussed if I don't use it

I'd have no second thoughts after a good burn out and rinse
