Hi al,
I tried beer can chicken for the first time tonight and all was going to plan until I removed the chicken from the vertical beer can chicken rack. The temperature according to my igrill mini was around 170-175F when I removed it from the BBQ. By the time I managed to remove the chicken from the beer can (this was approx 10 mins) the internal temperature then read around 155F. Could this be correct?
I didn't want to risk it so I had to put the chicken back into the BBQ until the temperature reached over 165F. Unfortunately, this took another 1hr as the coals started to lose heat.
I plan to get a Maverick next week so this will hopefully help with accurate temp readings.
Internal temperature drops once off the BBQ?

Thanks, I'm guessing it must have been something like that. I hope to get my Maverick shortly which will help with accurate readings.
