I'm currently working with a manufacturer in China importing sports equipment & asked them what other lines they did. My ears pricked up when she told me they also made electric pellet BBQ grills. In fact, it turns out they actually make the grills for Traeger. I asked if they offered a non-branded OEM version & she said that they did. To buy a single Traeger Elite model from them for example costs £1100 (includes shipping from China, import duty, VAT & charges) but there are discounts of over 50% for buying in bulk (Min 10 units), so I thought I would see if anyone was interested in clubbing together to buy some & save ourselves some serious dosh?

You cannot get hold of the Traeger Elite (646 sq in cooking area) Pellet Grill in this country for love nor money as Traeger seems to have abandoned us Brits, & the closest GMG equivalent (Jim Bowie 600 sq in cooking area) costs £975. They also make all the spares, covers etc. & offer a 1 year guarantee with the item. It's a return to base guarantee, but they said they would also send replacements for any damaged/broken parts & you would fit them yourself. The unit would be 240V & have a 3-pin UK plug. It also has the digital controller (Not shown in picture). I am getting a picture of it tomorrow & will post it. I think it may be in Fahrenheit & not Celcius, but I'll check on that.

They also do the Lil' Tex (Elite) & some weird little solar powered jobbie.

PRICES - Elite would cost £475 - Lil' Tex Elite would cost £375 - both prices include shipping, VAT & custom duty etc., but not UK shipping to home address. You can use courier or pick it up yourself from Plymouth.

Please leave a comment below if you are interested in either of these grills (Please state which one you are interested in).

Let me know if you have any questions etc.?

Pete :)

Hi,

I am most interested in the Traeger Elite, I myself have had one for about 10 years, bought it
from a german company whilst living in Spain.

My eldest son, now I am back in the Uk, has been eyeing it with envy and if you can get enough interest we would like to import one. The control looks like the old 3 level, but I have a digital
spare so no problems.

Thanks and take care

Xtian

It may appeal to friends who covet my old Lil' Tex and GMG Davy Crockett.

Or I might even go for it, and sell my Lil' Tex on to a friend.

Not committing yet  but certainly interested in seeing more details.

Regarding the Fahrenheit vs Celsius issue. Dunno about the others, but I actually *prefer* Fahrenheit; although being a Brit, and using Celsius (or Gas Mark) for domestic cooking, all my BBQ books are american, and therefore in Fahrenheit!
