I bought wood from Paul Gouldon and found it so easy to identify due to having C, A, O Etc written on it

I used Silver Birch (from Smokewood Shack) on a rotisserie chicken and baked some potatoes under the chook at the same time and they all tasted really good. Nice light (as opposed to 'heavy' like oak or hickory) smoke with a touch of sweetness to it, the spuds were especially superb!.

Re: Silver Birch
I have used it and its ok, it gives off a lot of heat and burnt quicker than oak i found.
I guess it depends on your supply of wood, but its not to be sniffed at.
