Yeah I have got the 733 and it is a good unit. It took me a while to get the hang of operating it and setting the temperature alarms but it's easy once you figure it out. I also have the 732 but the receiver died on me last year so decided to get the 733 this year. I found that the probes on the older unit are more accurate than the newer ones but only by a couple of degrees F at freezing temp. However the probes from both units are interchangeable so I can use them instead.
I'm not sure on price of the probes for the older model but the ones that come with the 733 are really good anyway. I've had my 732 for around 2-3 years maybe more, not sure why the receiver suddenly stopped working but the main unit still functions fine so I now have a couple of decent thermometers to hand.
I was reading online that the 733 is more designed for grilling and the 732 is more for smoking due to the probes that are included? 733 you get 2x food probes and 732 you get one food probe and one barbecue temp probe (ie one to monitor the smoke chamber one for the meat)
Is that correct or can you use the 733 the same way as the 732? Makes sense to get the newer model if thats the case!
As far as I'm aware the units are pretty much identical apart from the receiver in the 733 has options for setting different types of meats etc. the probes that come with the 733 are universal, they can be used as either food or pit probes.
Yes I liked the 733 because it's more flexible. The probes can be used for heat and meat or 2 meat if you want. You get 2 grate clips too incase you want to measure the temp in different parts.

Had a play already and seems to be working. Need more time yet to play. looks good so far.
I have a 733 and it seems to work just fine. I find there's a fair difference tho between the WSM lid thermometer and the Maverick readings. The lid temp reads about 20 degrees or so lower than the maverick.
